Our Story

I founded SMARTCharts in the basement of Northwestern University. 

 

As a speech language pathologist, I needed a tool that could automate my patient notes and show my patients what their progress looked like in a way that was easy to understand.

 

My background as a former actuary helped me create an analytical tool that quantifies progress, yet shows it in easy to understand pictures, charts and graphs.

 

My “North Star” is helping patients to build capability.  Support for clinicians is key.  I believe most clinicians enter the profession with this North Star but get disillusioned by the sheer time it takes to document patient progress.
